Principle: local storage

Munter is designed to be local-first. Your alarms, statistics and streak data are, as a rule, stored only locally on your device and do not leave it. We cannot access this data unless you enable optional cloud synchronisation.

Optional account & cloud sync

If you create an account and enable synchronisation, we process the data required for the backup (e.g. email address, alarm and statistics data) in order to make your settings available across devices. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract).

Hosting/storage is provided by [placeholder: cloud/hosting provider, incl. name and location]. Where data is processed outside the EU/EEA, appropriate safeguards (e.g. EU Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place.

App permissions

NFC: the app uses your device’s NFC function solely to recognise your tag and stop the alarm. No personal data is transmitted to us in the process.

Notifications: used to deliver your alarms and reminders. You can manage these permissions in your device settings at any time.

Visiting our website

When you access munter.app, technically necessary data is processed (e.g. IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type) in order to deliver and securely operate the website. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest). Website hosting: [placeholder: website hosting provider].

Cookies & consent

We use technically necessary cookies on the basis of our legitimate interest. Cookies and technologies used for marketing or advertising are only set with your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time with effect for the future.

Marketing & advertising

Subject to your consent, we use marketing and conversion-tracking services to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. In doing so, data may be transferred to the respective providers, including in third countries such as the USA.

Services used: [placeholder: e.g. Meta Pixel, Google Ads, TikTok Pixel]. These services use cookies/pixels and may analyse your usage behaviour across devices. Details can be found in the privacy notices of the respective providers.

App store statistics

Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play) provide us with aggregated, anonymous statistics on downloads and usage. Apple and Google are responsible for the data processing within their stores.

Shop orders

When you order from the Munter shop, we process the data required to perform the contract, deliver the goods and process payment (e.g. name, delivery/billing address, email, order data). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Payments are handled via [placeholder: payment provider, e.g. Stripe/PayPal]; payment data is processed by the respective provider. For tax and commercial-law reasons we retain invoice data for up to 7 years (§ 132 BAO).

Disclosure to third parties

We only share data where this is necessary to perform the contract (e.g. with shipping or payment providers), where you have consented, or where we are legally required to do so. Data processing agreements pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR are in place with our processors.

Retention

We store personal data only for as long as necessary for the respective purposes or as required by statutory retention periods.

Your rights

Access (Art. 15 GDPR): you may request information about the data we process about you.

Rectification (Art. 16): you may request correction of inaccurate data.

Erasure (Art. 17): you may request deletion of your data.

Restriction (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20).

Objection (Art. 21): you may object to processing based on legitimate interests.

Withdrawal of consent at any time with effect for the future.

To exercise your rights, a message to support@munter.app is sufficient.

Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority in Austria is the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna).
